Access to quality jobs and careers is a key component to lifting families out of poverty.
Our city has a thriving economy that continues to grow. Yet far too many District residents have trouble finding employment, or work in low-wage jobs that make it difficult to make ends meet. DC’s income inequality gap is one of the largest in the nation, and the cost of living in the city continues to increase. Through our analyses of employment, job training, and workers’ rights and protections, DCFPI seeks to promote budget and policy choices that expand quality job opportunities and reduce income inequality for DC residents.
