The District’s online healthcare exchange, www.dchealthlink.org, has been operational for almost three months and has helped thousands of residents and hundreds of small businesses find affordable health plans. But, we are still a long way from making sure District residents are fully insured. Today is the last day to choose a plan that will take effect Jan. 1st, so if you, a friend, or a neighbor need coverage, sign-up today!
So far more than 5,600 individuals and families have applied for coverage through DC Health Link. There are 34 competitively priced plans available for individuals and they cover a robust set of services that families need — including coverage of more comprehensive mental health services. DC Health Link also offers a large network of community assisters available to assist residents through the application, shopping, and enrollment processes.
Today is the last day to choose a plan that will begin coverage on January 1st, but open enrollment continues through March. However, purchasing a plan sooner rather than later can help residents avoid any gaps in coverage that may lead to unaffordable medical bills.
