As national health reform progresses, the District faces several decisions in its efforts to make quality and affordable health insurance available to all residents. DC is a national leader in health policy innovation and has proposed three major pieces of reform: a regulated health insurance exchange; a minimum floor on services that insurers must offer; and coverage options for low-income residents.
