Kitty Richards has been appointed Acting Executive Director of DCFPI. Ed Lazere, DCFPI’s longtime Executive Director, will be taking a leave of absence through June 30, 2018 to pursue an opportunity that he will be announcing himself later today.
Kitty brings a great mix of strong leadership skills, public policy research experience and knowledge of the budget and policy process in the District of Columbia. She has worked on federal fiscal policy issues with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Center for American Progress, and the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Budget, and served as an Economic Policy Advisor to then-Vice President Joseph Biden. Kitty also has local DC experience, recently serving as Chief of Staff for At-Large Councilmember Elissa Silverman.
