The DC Council’s reconstituted education committee has made a splash with some big proposals. In the past few weeks, we’ve highlighted a few of the education bills that have been introduced.
DCFPI offered testimony on two of the bills at public hearings held this week. You can read our thoughts on the Individual School Accountability and Fair Student Funding and School-Based Budgeting bills on our education page.
It’s not too late to get involved in the process. Education Committee Chairman David Catania (I-At-Large) is launching a series of community discussions focused on DC public education in each ward of the city this summer. Residents are encouraged to bring their ideas on the new bills, and any other ideas they have on reforming education in DC. You can sign up to participate through the links below:
