In January’s edition of the Hill Rag, DCFPI waded into the issue of constituent service funds. We argued that the best way to support residents in need of emergency assistance is to adequately fund programs such as the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and the Interim Disability Assistance (IDA) Program. These programs, and others like them that support low and moderate-income District residents, have faced cutbacks in the past several budgets.
