WASHINGTON–DC Fiscal Policy Institute (DCFPI) is pleased to announce the election of George A. Jones to its Board of Directors.
A leader in the challenge of attacking poverty through a racial equity lens and the movement for a racially equitable DC, George A. Jones has been Chief Executive Officer of Bread for the City since 1996. He was instrumental in the passage of the 2020 Racial Equity Achieves Results Act, which requires the DC government to ensure all DC legislation is equitable and antiracist. He brings his wealth of experience working to solve some of the District’s most pressing challenges to his role on the DCFPI board.
“I’m so thrilled to have been voted onto the DC Fiscal Policy Institute Board of Directors,” said George A. Jones. “I really look forward to working with the DCFPI Board and staff to help advance the cause of racial and socioeconomic justice in Washington, DC.”
“I’m excited to welcome to our board such a dedicated advocate for struggling families and communities who is rooted in antiracism,” said Erica Williams. “DCFPI will benefit tremendously from George’s leadership and experience, particularly as we look to become a more powerful agent for racially-just policy change in DC.”
