The gap between rich and poor in the District is one of the highest among the largest cities in the United States. Mayor Gray and the DC Council have a major opportunity with the FY 2015 budget to start narrowing the income gap and increasing opportunity for DC residents, through investments in affordable housing, education, health care, job assistance, and targeted tax reductions.
